GEMS Core System
GEMS is an enterprise wide internet solution that holds all of the data necessary for compliance with environmental standards and regulations worldwide.
The Core System has 3 main entities:
System Data
This holds all the core information including Bills of Materials, rules, tariff and all other data needed to comply with the regulations and run the system.
Corporate Data
This holds all the additional information for the local business needs including:
- Additional item and bill of material data for internal reporting
- Contact data for suppliers and customers
- Security configurations
- Local reports and forms
The data setup is controlled by the GEMS data dictionary suite.
Data Flow Manager (DFM)
This holds all the control information, scheduling details and business rules for all data flows including:
- Two-way communication with ERP/MRP systems including SAP, Oracle and JD Edwards, data publication to customers, directories and other websites and supply chain data requests via forms such as IPC 1752.
- Publication of data to customers / directories/ other websites
