Integrated Data Management
GEMS creates, distributes and follows-up data requests to your supply chain.
A typical GEMS installation will include at least one of the following:-
- External Data Inputs via Supply Chain Connect
- Internal Systems including spreadsheets, and sales and ERP/PLM data from systems such as SAP and Oracle
- Supply Chain Data using the Supplier Portal, your own forms or standard forms such as IPC 1752
External Data Inputs
Data may be obtained directly from external sources in a number of ways including Supply Chain Connect and direct updates.
Supply Chain Connect
Your larger suppliers may have substance data available on their websites. Foresite's Supply Chain Connect will enable you to automatically scrape RoHS and REACH compliance data down from those sites into your instance of GEMS, and to associate it with your BOMs.
Direct Updates
GEMS can import data from 3rd party external datamarts / spreadsheets provided you are licensed to retrieve the data. These sources can include other copies of GEMS, subscription data databases and agency/distributor data.
Internal Systems
GEMS interfaces and integrates with all major ERP/MRP/PLM and product specification systems including SAP, Oracle, JBA, Agile, eMatrix, JD Edwards, and BPCS. GEMS can also integrate with multiple systems simultaneously, either periodically or real-time, to ensure that GEMS is constantly synchronised with your established back-office systems. GEMS collects the data needed to meet the reporting requirements including Bill of Materials data, supply chain contact details, and sales and purchase information. GEMS may also send summary, compliance or cost data back to other systems.
GEMS interfaces may also be bi-directional returning cost and analysis data, as required.
Supply Chain Data
GEMS will create, distribute and follow-up data requests to other organizations in your supply chain. The GEMS Forms Library and Data Flow Manager combine to send out different forms, including all versions of IPC 1752 forms, REACH questionnaires or your own forms.
